On Sep. 30, 2020, New York State’s Sick Leave Law (Part J of Chapter 56 of the Laws of 2020) became effective and now governs paid sick leave in Westchester County. Please refer to the New York State Sick Leave Law for information about your obligations and rights under New York State law.
Please note that the Westchester County Safe Time Leave Law has not been preempted by the New York State Sick Leave Law. Covered employers remain obligated to comply with the provisions of the Safe Time Leave Law.
